By train
Two lines come in, one from London and one from Bristol. Both end at Weymouth.
Trains to Weymouth
- South Western Railway from London Waterloo: generally two trains an hour, via Southampton, Bournemouth and Dorchester South. Around 2 hours 45 minutes, which is SWR's own figure. SWR's Weymouth page.
- Great Western Railway from Bristol Temple Meads: around eight trains a day via Bath Spa, Westbury, Castle Cary, Yeovil Pen Mill and Dorchester West, the Heart of Wessex line. About 2 hours 15 to 2 hours 30. GWR train times.
- The station: Weymouth, code WEY, King Street, DT4 7BN. Step free to every platform, though some ramps are long or steep. 224 car park spaces, cycle storage, toilets including a Changing Places one, ticket machines and wifi. Ticket office hours change, so check National Rail.

By coach

By car
Two roads in, and the best place to leave the car is outside town.
Driving to Weymouth
The A354 brings you down from Dorchester, and the A353 comes in from the east along the coast. Dorchester is where the A35 meets both, so from almost anywhere you come through Dorchester or along the A353.

Free to park, and a thousand spaces. You pay the bus fare into town instead. Easily the cheapest way to do a summer day in Weymouth.

By air
Flying to Weymouth
Weymouth has no airport. The nearest are Bournemouth, Southampton, Exeter and Bristol. From Bristol the train comes straight here on the Heart of Wessex line. From Southampton and Bournemouth the London to Weymouth line passes both towns.
By bike
Cycling to Weymouth
National Cycle Route 26 comes through Weymouth. The Rodwell Trail runs 3.5 km along the old Portland railway from Westham Bridge to Ferry Bridge and is part of Route 26. The station has cycle storage.
By sea
Ferries to Weymouth
There is no ferry to Weymouth. The last one left in 2015, when Condor moved its Channel Islands sailings to Poole. Anything online that still offers a boat to Weymouth is out of date.
