Nothe Fort
Barrack Road, on the headland above the harbour
Victorian sea fort with tunnels, gun decks and the best view over the bay. Ramparts are largely covered, so it holds up in poor weather.
Opening
Daily 10:00 to 16:00
Every day, 10:00 to 16:00
28 March to 1 November 2026, then closed for maintenance until 13 February 2027
Dogs welcome
Their own words: dogs are part of the family and they love seeing them round the fort, on a short lead and supervised. Water bowls by the cafe.
